Kaikouras

It was a clear night last night after the raging Nor'wester. Across the ocean i could just make out the mountain range 'Kaikouras' still tipped with snow. Kiakoura is about 2 and half hours drive North from Christchurch and the mountains I image are a bit further inland. It was quite a sight!
Don't forget****** "Silly Tuesday" ******where you can post anything that is silly, funny, daft or just makes you laugh!!!
For those of you that don't know the origin of Silly Tuesday here is a bit if a run down....It started on this day. My thoughts were as follows......
Monday is the start of the week...
Wednesday is the middle of the week.....
Thursday is nearly Friday and Friday is the start of the weekend:-)
I know some people work weekends as I am one of them:-)
But its still the weekend BUT......
What is Tuesday???? Its just a Silly Day that means nothing....so thats where ST came from:-)

Very beautiful picture. Ideally, I would like to visit all these kind of places you see here on Aminus. But it would cost too much so I have to be content with me to watch this. Have a good day Kent

oh wow!!! this is breathtaking!! i haven't been able to ever see these mountains yet as they were covered in clouds when i visited Kaikoura and i had no idea that they could be seen from chch (if that is indeed where this image was taken from?!?!). absolutely beautiful! and those clouds are so amazing! a superb capture Liners!

@Kathryn: Thanks Kathryn:-) I took this from my house in Sumner just out of ChCh city! I was lucky it was a really clear day and had to use my full zoom:-)

Fantastic image C and very interesting seeing all the different cloud formations, quite a few storm cells still present in there. Nice work :)

OMG liners is this taken from your house or on the beach either way its a great shot love the muted tones. Have decided it must have been taken when you were in Kaikoura earlier in the year
