River Avon and the Curators. The twist is that the first 2 shots were of spring this year and this is autumn this year!

Don't forget****** "Silly Tuesday" ******where you can post anything that is silly, funny, daft or just makes you laugh!!!
Its a family affair.....

Kylie Greenan from Richmond, Australia

I have just viewed your images over the last couple of days and man, I thought I had a nice view, yours is sensational, I love this image, so pretty and I don't think I could get much work done looking at this. You really do live in a beautiful part of the world and I so have to get there one day. Thank you for showing us this beautiful part of your life, what a blessing to view this each day and you have captured the colours and detail so well my dear friend, bravo!

Maxine from Rangiora, New Zealand

superb shot C, going home after a night? the color is fabulous, a really special shot.

7 Oct 2008 7:46am

@Maxine: Thanks max:-) Though it wasn;t going home after a night...it was a late Autumn day well, about 4ish. Its funny how it can all look so different:-)) Thank you for your lovely comments:-)

Monique from Koh Samui, Thailand

Ah, so this is autumn in New Zealand and what a great place is this, some lucky people living in that house near the river! Beautiful shot from a great angle and the colors are so lovely and vivid.

7 Oct 2008 8:01am

@Monique: Thank you Monique, yes this is Autumn and I guess it does not look too different from Spring!!!! The house you see is now a restaurant but it is beautiful. Many people walk along the banks of the river every day and you can go 'punting' there too

MadScientist from Düsseldorf, Germany

Really, really lovely! Funny enough, your spring colours doesn't seem too far away from the autumn colours.

7 Oct 2008 9:24am

@MadScientist: Ahhh thats why I thought I could get away with it but I was too honest in the end:-)) Thanks you ms for your constant support:-))

So beautiful and tranquil, Liners. I'd love to walk around there every day!

7 Oct 2008 10:10am

@Eric Fry: It is exactly that Eric, I don't think I walk around there enough, perhaps if I lived in town I would. But thank you for the reminder....i must walk around there more:-))

grouser from Ludlow, United Kingdom

Are you sure now?
It's a relief to know that at least Autumn looks like Autumn.
Given the colours and the architecture it could be the Avon in the UK, although the water won't be so placid given all the rain we are having.

7 Oct 2008 10:36am

@grouser: I'm sure lol!!! A lot of people say that Christchurch is a very English city....well we settled there and developed it so i suppose it would be! There are some similarites as the above picture shows but I still feel it is very different to any English city I've been to. Thanks for your comments;-) Sorry about the rain:-(

willow from Chelsea, United States

Wow! I love the view - perfect spot to shoot from! The colors are fabulous. Will we be seeing a winter white version soon?

7 Oct 2008 4:26pm

@willow: Thank you Willow...unfortunately no snow covered ones:-( Christchurch is on the Canterbury Plains and is very flat and close to the sea, hence we very rarely get snow down to ground level, also we have had quite a mild winter with only a few frosts....maybe next year. It would look lovely covered in snow:-)
