What an absolute cracker, could you have thought up a more appropriate title???.. I think not! marvellous!! That camera of yours has some serious power by the looks, I am not sure how far away you are really Liners but your 78mm, it looks like it would be a much longer zoom than that, the clarity is unreal. Well done and an outstanding composition, one your your very best my dear friend!

@Kylie Greenan: Shucks my friend you are too kind:-) though I can take it so don't stop lol!!! I was so lucky to see this...its one of those times that you look and think "no, surely thats not happening now, and I have my camera...how lucky am I". I was so chuffed that I got one good one out of about 6. I have to confess though...the clock tower has four faces and only one of them has been given hands so far, so watch this space for the next step! Thanks Kyles my friend:-))

Mike from Lichfield, United Kingdom

Great shot. I'd have sent it off to the local newspaper.

2 Oct 2008 5:28am

@Mike: Thanks for visiting Mike:-) I never thought of that....I recon the local rag might have taken me up on that cos there was no one else there that I could see. I'll make enquiries and see. Will let you know:-)

dj.tigersprout from San Bruno, CA, United States

yes Liners -- the title is PERFECT! as is this shot! faaabulous! and it is a beautiful sentiment -- in this crazy world that runs on 'lack' of time... we need to MAKE THE TIME to do the things we love and enjoy doing... and do them with the people we love!!! faaabulous!

2 Oct 2008 6:45am

@dj.tigersprout: Thank you so much dj:-) very kind words! You are of course correct....we should make the time!!! I did tonight by going to see friends I hadn't connected with for a while and you know....I feel a million dollars for having done so and we all said goodbye with big smiles and hugs and it was super special! 'Make time' I think will be my motto for the future:-))

KZC from Sydney, Australia

Looks like he is trying to get it to lunch time. An excellent shot of people at work. I love work, I can watch people do it for hours.

He certainly has time on his hands now....

2 Oct 2008 7:37am

@KZC: Hehehehe, lots of 'time' references in your comment....bravo:-)) Lunch time is always good:-) Time on his hands...hahahahaha!!!! Thank you K:-)

Maxine from Rangiora, New Zealand

brilliant work C, definitely a shot for the local rag. Dont the new hands look sooo clean and shiny. the face of the clock is so beautifully aged, that verdigis color and rust combination is actually lovely.

2 Oct 2008 8:44am

@Maxine: Hay thanks Max:-) The new hands do look lovely but have you noticed thay have only done one side of the tower @#%$#(%$(&^%$*.......I wonder how long it will take for the other 3 sides to be done lol:-)

Monique from Koh Samui, Thailand

Strong title for a great picture! Lovely composition of a very extraordinary sight! Hope you're able to captured the other three sides also ;)

Beautiful colours in the old clock face Liners. This is really quite lovely, I love how the sunlight is shining through his hair like a halo. I second Mike's comment that you should send this off to the paper, it would make a great Human Interest piece. Perhaps you could write something to accompany it, you might increase the $$$ that way! ;-)

JoeB from Brampton, Canada

All it took was a guy in a bucket to do it, it could stand a bit of paint while he's up there.

Lorraine from Gatineau, Canada

Observing from West Cheshire, United Kingdom

That's a cool one Liners, you've made history... the day the hands went back. You'd think he might have painted the face while he was up there.
