"SILLY TUESDAY ANNOUNCEMENT"
Due to the Festive Season and Folks being busy, and hopefully silly, SILLY TUESDAY will return to full service on the 12th January 2010.
Until then...keep up the Silliness that has become Tuesday and keep thinking Silly thoughts as you take those Christmas and New Year shots!!!

Hmmm, we are on the same wavelength, I took an image of the gulls having a bath down at the dock also, hahha. I much prefer yours here, and I feel a little sad for the fellow looking on from the side, as if he is wishing he was joining in the fun and his little silhouette in the water, ohhh, ok, I'll stop being such a sop now. Very though provoking image Liners, I am a big wildlife fan as you know :o) Well done my friend, well done!

They are such characters the seagulls. The levels of sand and water are fab they provide extra interest, and the water is so full of movement.

just beautifully done here Liners!! a tad of humor too -- i love the seagull that is watching the others! ;) maybe he is waiting to have his own private dip once the ruckus calms down a bit!! a beautiful shot here to be sure -- those sand banks do indeed draw the eye! excellent in my book! bravo!

@dj.tigersprout: What a lovely comment dj, thank you:-)) They are often bathing when i walk by at round 6pm and they do seem to have a pecking order, so to speak, as to who goes next...it is funny:-)

No too long ago I saw a picture on Aminus3 of another non-waterproof seagull :)) He looks very sad standing at the sideline while the others are enjoying their bath! I like the composition of your picture, because normally you would see the sand and water just the other way around.

Hey me old mucker!! Don't you ever go to work any more? Do you just wander along the beaches of this Antipodean beauty spot (probably muttering to yourself and wearing purple!?) looking for stunning photos to take? I am completely amazed at the quality of lovely pictures you have uploaded here. Especially the composition of this one (although I liked the cloud ones earlier too!) (and all the others except the one from Sept23rd of Grandma R !!! Don't stop! (But don't forget to go to work too sometimes to help pay for those memory cards). Love you lots, K xxx What a lovely community this is, by the way, how nice everyone is!! :o)

I do still manage to get to work (I have to save up for my trip home) but I have started to take my camera absolutely everywhere I go!!!! love the way the line sin the sand divide the shot, also the 3 different positions and stance of the gulls, one looking pensive as whether to get in, one splashing in the water, and the other standing in the water
