#2 Evening Time at Lake Ohau

Posted by Linerberry (Sumner, Christchurch, New Zealand) on 10 August 2008 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

Arrived at Ohau and the mountain was closed due to adverse weather! Oh well, better enjoy a few beers with friends whilst enjoying the view at sundown from Ohau Lodge. Big day on the snow tomorrow!

Don't forget****** "Silly Tuesday" ******where you can post anything that is silly, funny, daft or just makes you laugh!!!
Its a family affair.....

OH MY GOD, this is STUNNING! Liners, how good are you! Frame it girlfriend, this is a pearler! LOVE IT! Fabulous stuff! Outstanding composition of the dark and light, so well framed, the three tiers of dark, then lighter, then the snow on the hills and the sky I just love it! I'm so excited for you I nearly p'd my pants! :o)

tkbphotos from Salt Lake City, United States

This reminds me of how the mountains look here in Salt Lake City during the winter. Of course we are in the midst of our hottest month right now. Looks like a beautiful place. If the mountain is closed today due to a storm, then you should have nice soft snow tomorrow. Enjoy!

10 Aug 2008 5:59pm

@tkbphotos: Thanks tk. You were right, we did have great snow the next day!! Cheers for your comments:-))

Kathryn from Warburton, Australia

I will have to show my mum this shot - it will make her cry i bet! she desperately wants to go to NZ again but this time when there is lots of snow as we have only ever been over in the summer! a beautiful shot... AGAIN!! and again there is the cool negative/positive play with the water - like if this image was looked at upside down, the water is in the shape of a mountain range - you see what i mean or am i just a little over tired?!?!?

23 Jan 2009 9:52am

@Kathryn: You are so kind Kathryn! I do see what you mean too, I hadn't seen that before.
Thank you so much for looking back at my work and your lovely comments....it means so much:-)
